ARTOMATIC 2024 AND POST BROTHERS: A RESOUNDING SUCCESS CELEBRATING CREATIVITY AND COLLABORATION
The seven-week art festival featured 70,000 people exploring visual art, music, film, performance, poetry, and fashion created by 1,000 artists.

“AMAZING!! WOW! This could possibly be the best sculpture at AOM [Artomatic]… gorgeous and huge piece by Antony Maderal! Quite possibly the best Star Trek artwork ever (no idea if this talented artist meant it to be?), but darn if this is not the best BORG cube in artistic history! Sculpture by Antony Maderal is titled "I0I0 - In Our Own Image" - I seriously think that the DC Commission on the Arts & Humanities needs to acquire it for the city's public art collection! Can you imagine this gorgeous work of art spinning (where it can't be reached or touched, but seen) at a DC building?”

“Antony Maderal, who has lived in Arlington, Virginia, for the last 20 years, built his sculpture out of computer parts and liked the benefit of having open space. “I started tearing apart computers and other servers and printers and anything that I could find that had a circuit board in it, and displaying that in two dimensions,” he said. “When I saw this open space, I just wanted to make an installation and make something big.”

“Friday's opening salvo featured a performance by Emma G, a local crooner who set the tone for a gritty, artsy celebration—as WTOP reported. Adding to the vibrant mix, Valerie Theberge and Antony Maderal showed off their art chops. Theberge, a sculptor, showcased a colorful ensemble of carved foam with fiberglass and mortar, while Maderal's large tech-salvage sculptures added a post-modern touch to the panoramic spree of creativity.”
