Cube Series

Two cubes (24”x24”x24'“) and (18”x18”x18”) constructed of repurposed plywood, dimensional lumber scraps, and sourced recycled electronic components were created as part of a series submitted the DC Art Bank 2024 open call application. The DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities acquires fine art to support local visual artists, District art galleries, and local art nonprofit organizations. The ongoing and annual art acquisition from metropolitan artists becomes a part of the Art Bank Collection. CAH manages artwork in the collection. It is then loaned to District Government agencies for display in public areas and offices of government buildings. The Art Bank Collection, which started in 1986, has nearly 3,000 artworks.

Cube2 and Cube3 are variations of 1001 the larger cube created for 2024 Artomatic. I anticipate many future variations in size and shape.
